OAKLAND MAGIC CIRCLE
FLEA MARKET AND AUCTION
by Mark Tarses
SELLERS:
If you are going to be a SELLER at our Flea Market, we will supply you with a table and chairs, but here are some things you should bring with you:
- Change. You should be able to break a $100 bill, and not all in 20s. Have some $5 and $1 bills too.
- A dolly. Our parking lot fills up early on flea market night, and we cannot guarantee sellers a parking space in our lot. If you haven't got a dolly, pack your heavy items in a suitcase with wheels on it.
- Price stickers. A small Post-It notepad makes excellent price stickers.
- Bags. How will Buyers carry away their purchases? Old supermarket bags work fine. Bring more than you think you will need.
- A receipt book, if you have one. Many professional magicians come to our flea market. Their purchases are tax deductible, so they need receipts.
- Other items: If you have magic items for sale that you aren't bringing with you, its OK with us if you advertise them at your table. Bring photographs or a list of magic items for sale that you can hand out. You might also bring 2 tablecloths, one tablecloth to cover your table and another to cover your magic during the auction. No table sales are permitted during the live auction.
- No fire or smoke. If you have magic tricks for sale that make make fire or smoke, you cannot demonstrate them inside the building. Its against the law and could set off the smoke detectors.
